Ralink RT5390 RT3290 WLAN Adapter Driver Windows 10 64 bit I'm now using the Tiger version of USBWirelessUtility 1.4.8.0 with the Tiger version of driver 2.0.0.0. Ralink didn't compile the WirelessUtility any more for a G3 processor, but the installer worked fine and also the driver could still be used with a G3. This was the solution for my situation (iBook with a PPC G3, OS X 10.4 Tiger). I have no experience with Ralink drivers on OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, so I don't know if this helps for you, but maybe you can also use an older version of the USBWirelessUtility to control your driver. I use Raling drivers 3.0 instead of the older (and similarly buggy) ones from the hardware provider, Alfa networks. I just bought an USB wifi interface with a chipset from Ralink, and got issues on OSX 10.6 (and just that version) when trying to use non-open networks (the Ralink 'Wireless Utility' just quits instead of showing the password pane). We think this is great, although the rather might think otherwise. These drivers are probably only going to be used in Frankenmacs. As every new Mac comes with Wi-Fi, there is no need for anyone to buy a third party card, especially not a Mini-PCI card. What is most interesting about this development is that Ralink is effectively supporting Hackintoshes. The wireless utility starts automatically at login and seems to connect automatically as long as you make a profile for your preferred network. We haven't yet tested the new setup, as both of the Gadget Lab Hackintoshes have replacement Dell cards inside, but the reports from the MSI wind forum say that it works, although the interface is still pretty fugly. There were already drivers for this card, but the interface was quite hideous and the connection had to be manually re-established after sleep or a restart. But owners of the Wind clone Medion Akoya Mini will have the Ralink card inside (check the sticker on the bottom of the computer). The official Wind still ships with a Realtek Wi-Fi card, so the replacement option is still the best way to go. But those not so comfortable with – literally – screwing around inside their netbooks now have a better option: Ralink, the supplier of wireless cards to some Wind variants, has released an updated driver for OS X (10.3, 10.4 and 10.5). It costs around $15 and acts just like a real Aiport card in a real Mac.
